One of the oldest motorcycle series on this list set the bar high for its followers. The Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird was originally released in 1997, and was built with a double overhead cam, liquid-cool, inline 4 cylinder engine. It was marketed at 133hp, 78 lbf·ft torque, and ran a cool 170mph. In subsequent years, production only improved on the machine. Later speeds would reach 180mph. Honda stopped producing the CBR series in 2007. For a while, the Blackbird was one of the fastest on the market, before eventually passing the title on to bikes listed later in this article.
